WLL 150T Polyester Round Slings
ஏ WLL 150T polyester round sling is the 150,000 kg step in an endless sleeved range — one size above 120 டி, one below 200 டி, and the size that most often lands a 300-tonne four-leg lift on the right side of its safety margin. The core is continuous high-tenacity polyester; the woven sleeve carries the load’s abrasion and the marking your rigger reads; there is no metal on the sling at all.
Built to AS 4497:2018, the sling carries a minimum breaking load of 1,050,000 kg and is proof loaded to 300,000 kg before dispatch, with the figure recorded against its serial number.

Why the 150 Tonne Step Exists
Heavy lifts are seldom specified on a single leg. ஏ 300 t package on four legs at 30° needs roughly 143 t per leg once the assembly factor is applied. ஏ 120 tonne sling falls short of that figure; அ 200 tonne sling carries a third more capacity than the lift asks for and pays for it in sleeve bulk, coil size and freight. The 150 t sling is the size that fits.
| Worked example | Figure |
|---|---|
| Load to be lifted | 300 டி, symmetrical |
| Configuration | 4 legs at 30° to vertical |
| Assembly factor, 4 legs at 0–45° | 2.1 |
| Required capacity per leg | 300 ÷ 2.1 = 143 டி |
| Sling selected | WLL 150T, working at 95% of its vertical rating |
The assembly factor assumes the load is shared equally. An off-centre centre of gravity, a short leg or a two-leg pick-up changes the figure — calculate per leg rather than dividing by the number of legs.
Capacity in Each Arrangement
The sleeve figure is the vertical rating; everything else is that figure multiplied by a mode factor. The basket figures are the reason a 150 t sling so often appears on a lift described as 300 டி.
| Arrangement | Mode factor | Working load limit |
|---|---|---|
1.5 (45–60°). A basket figure is only usable if the hook, shackle or beam above it is rated for the same load.

நீளம், Coil and Getting It to the Hook
At this capacity the sling stops behaving like a strap and starts behaving like a coiled rope: a long 150 t sling is a planned handling operation, not a one-person carry. Three things are worth settling before the order rather than on site.
- Which length convention you use. An endless sling is quoted either as the lay-flat length (half the circumference) or as the full circumference of the loop. The two differ by a factor of two, and a sling built to the wrong one is a scrap item at this size.
- How it will be moved. Coil diameter and packed weight grow with both capacity and length. Tell us the transport, the door height and whether a forklift or overhead crane will lift the coil into place.
- Where it will hang. ஏ 150 t sling working in a basket needs a long body path under the load; check the headroom and the hook height before the length is fixed.

Endless Loop or Eyes at 150 டன்கள்?
The endless loop is the standard article at this size and the more versatile: it rigs vertical, in a basket, choked or double-wrapped, and the loop can be rotated to spread wear. ஏ round sling with eyes fixes the length and gives two defined pick-up points — worth having when the same lift repeats. The trade is that the load passes through two stitched terminations, which then become the first inspection point. Both are built on the same line at this capacity.
Sleeve Wear and Contact Pressure
At 150 t the same sleeve area carries roughly 25% more load than a 120 t sling of similar build, so the sleeve works harder and the consequences of a cut are greater. The sleeve is a wear part: it takes the abrasion so the core does not, and a sleeve worn through to the core retires the sling whatever the core looks like.
- Use edge protection wherever the body crosses a cut edge, a weld toe or a stamped corner — a 150 t load will find the weak point.
- Inspect the turn points and the sleeve under the load first; that is where abrasion and glazing appear.
- Keep the label legible. Above 10 t the colour no longer identifies capacity, so the sewn label is the only statement of what the sling can carry — and never drag a loaded sling or lift on a chemically contaminated sleeve.
Proof Load, Records and Documents
Every sling is proof loaded to 300,000 kg on the works’ horizontal test bed, then checked for length, sleeve integrity and marking before packing; the proof-load record travels with the serial number. Fibre certificates, a production sample and third-party witnessing are available — ask before the order, when those arrangements are easier to make than to add afterwards.

அடிக்கடி கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விகள்
Should I choose 150 t or 200 t for a 300 t four-leg lift?
150 t is normally sufficient: four legs at 30° give an assembly factor of 2.1, so 300 t divides to about 143 t per leg. Choose 200 t if the legs will be longer or steeper than 45°, if the load is off-centre, or if the site requires a higher utilisation margin.
Does a 150 t sling really lift 300 t in a basket?
ஆம், in a basket at 0–7° the mode factor is 2.0, so the rating is 300 t — provided the hook, shackle or beam above it is rated for 300 t and the body has a long enough path under the load. A basket at 45–60° gives back only 150 டி.
Is the 150 t sling available with eyes?
ஆம். The endless loop is standard, and an eye-and-eye version is built to the same capacity and standard. The eyes fix the length and the pick-up points; the load then passes through two stitched terminations, which become the first inspection point.
What paperwork comes with the sling?
A sewn label showing WLL, நீளம், நிலையான, manufacturer and serial or batch number, plus the proof-load record for that serial. Fibre certificates and third-party witnessing are available on request and should be specified before production.
