Most 2 tonne slings are bought as belts, not as eye slings, because that is the shape the work asks for: pipe bundles, drums, timber packs and anything you want to choke at the balance point rather than at a fixed eye. This is a 2,000 kg green endless body, 50 mm wide, to EN 1492-1.
Why the Belt Shape Holds Up Better
An endless sling has no sewn eyes, so there is no single point where every lift bends the fabric. The load can be applied anywhere on the loop, which means the wear point moves every time you use the sling differently — and you can move it on purpose.
Eight positions, one sling. On a belt with a single join, keep the join away from the hook and away from the load edge. Rotate the choke point a quarter turn between jobs and the same belt covers roughly eight wear positions before any one section is worn out. An eye sling has two.
That is also why the belt is easier to inspect honestly: the whole body passes through your hands, not just the eyes. What kills these slings is not overload — it is a cut at a corner nobody looked at.
How a 2 Tonne Belt Is Measured
An endless sling is quoted by half its circumference — the measurement you get when the loop is laid flat and doubled. اي “2 م” endless sling is 4 m of webbing joined into a ring, and it reaches a different part of the load than a 2 m eye sling does.
If you are replacing an eye sling, do not carry the number across. Give us the distance between hook and load, plus the hitch you will use, and we will convert it.

Is an endless sling stronger than an eye sling?
Not stronger — the rating comes from the same webbing and the same 7:1 factor. It lasts longer in practice because the wear point can be moved along the body instead of concentrating at two eyes.
How is the length of a 2 tonne belt measured?
