3 Ton Flat Webbing Sling – Lifting Sling Belt Manufacturers
Three tonnes is the size most buyers reorder by the hundred, which makes it the size where the word “manufacturer” gets stretched furthest. A 3 t flat sling is a 75 mm yellow body to EN 1492-1 with a 21,000 kg minimum breaking load — and the difference between a factory and a trader shows up in the third batch, not the first sample.
Five Things a Manufacturer Can Prove
Anyone can print “manufacturer” on a landing page. These five are what separates a production line from a relabelling operation, and every one of them is checkable before you place a second order.
- A test report that matches the webbing you are buying. Breaking-load figures tied to a specific webbing spec and batch — not a generic EN 1492-1 certificate recycled across every product on the site.
- Stitch detail that matches the body width. Multi-row lock stitch in high-tenacity polyester, with the stitch pattern scaled to a 75 mm body. A 25 mm stitch pattern on a 75 mm sling is the fastest tell there is.
- A serial that resolves to a batch. The label number should trace back to a production run and its test record. If the number is the same on every sling in the carton, it is decoration.
- Colour discipline. Yellow is the EN 1492-1 colour for 3 t. Batches that drift gold or lemon mean nobody is checking the webbing against a reference, which usually means nobody is checking the stitching either.
- A label with the full field set. WLL, length, material, CE mark, manufacturer and serial. Missing fields are the cheapest possible failure and the most common one.
Why 75 mm
Seventy-five millimetres is the width the EN table gives a 3 t body, and it is there for a reason: the same load spread over more webbing means less pressure at the point where the sling bends over an edge. A narrower body at the same rating works harder per centimetre and ages faster on the corners that actually cut slings.
Yellow sits between the 2 t green and the 4 t grey in the same code. In a rack that holds several sizes it is the fastest check a storeman has, and the reason we do not accept colour drift from a webbing supplier.
The Numbers
| Property | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Working load limit | 3,000 kg | Vertical, eyes seated |
| Minimum breaking load | 21,000 kg | 7:1 factor |
| Body width | 75 mm | Single ply; duplex on request |
| Material | 100 % polyester | −40 °C to +100 °C |
| Colour | Yellow | EN 1492-1 3 t code |
| Choked | 2,400 kg | 0.8 factor |
| Basket, 2 parts | 6,000 kg | 2.0 factor |
| 2-leg, 0–45° | 4,200 kg | 1.4 factor |
Factors to EN 1492-1, symmetrical load. The label headline is the vertical figure — a choked 3 t sling is a 2,400 kg sling.
What We Need Before Quoting
- Length — EWL, or the distance from hook to load plus the hitch, and we convert it.
- Eye type — flat reinforced eyes as standard; folded eyes or becket ends where the hook needs them.
- Label artwork — your brand and language, in vector, if the sling is going onto your own shelf.
- Quantity and packing — pieces per carton, carton marking, pallet height.
- Destination — sea or air, because it decides how the cartons get consolidated.

Buyer Questions
What does 3 ton actually mean on a webbing sling?
3,000 kg working load limit in a straight vertical lift with both eyes seated on the hook, against a 21,000 kg minimum breaking load at the 7:1 factor. Change the hitch and the number changes before the sling does.
Why are 3 tonne slings yellow?
EN 1492-1 assigns yellow to 3 t — green is 2 t, grey 4 t, red 5 t, blue 8 t, orange 10 t. Colour is a rack-side check, not a rating; only the label carries the WLL.
How wide is a 3 ton flat sling?
75 mm in a single-ply build, with duplex available where the sling works over concrete or flame-cut steel. Narrower bodies at the same rating wear faster at the edges.
Can the label carry our brand?
Yes — send the artwork in vector and tell us the language and the required fields. The CE mark, WLL, length, material and serial stay on the label regardless of whose brand sits above them.
Do you supply the test certificate with the order?
Each batch ships with its EN 1492-1 test record, and the serial on the label resolves to it. If your QA asks for a specific format, tell us at quotation stage rather than after production.
